On leaving sections empty

There is a politics section on this paper with almost nothing in it, and it is going to stay that way for a while.

Not because I have no views, but because the ones I hold with enough confidence to publish are the boring ones, and the interesting ones are still moving. A section that fills up quickly with positions I would want to retract in a year is worse than a section that fills up slowly.
